The Challenge

A multi-property hospitality, residential, and cultural campus had strong individual crisis-response components in place — security protocols, alert systems, first-aid coverage — but no unified system connecting them.

Preparedness, executive decision rights, and stakeholder communications varied by property and relied heavily on institutional relationships rather than a defined structure, leaving the organization exposed if a crisis unfolded without the right people already in the room.

02

Our Approach

VENNtion led the evolution of the campus's crisis playbook from a text-based emergency response manual into an integrated Crisis Leadership, Communications, and Recovery framework, built in five layers: establishing a baseline of current readiness, standardizing enterprise-wide governance and minimum standards, building scenario-specific response and communications playbooks, stress-testing the plan through tabletop exercises, and instituting an ongoing assurance process to track and close gaps.

As Crisis Communications Program Lead, Lori designed the stakeholder communications architecture — pre-built message grids, spokesperson protocols, and before/during/after messaging discipline — alongside a defined executive decision structure and a 90-day roadmap to move the organization from ad hoc readiness to institutionalized practice. Consistent with Lori's approach at NatureSweet, the framework was built to be proactive rather than reactionary — operationalized so the process holds regardless of who is in the room, and designed to scale as Silver Ventures' portfolio grows.

03

The Outcome

The result is a single operating system spanning the full campus — clear command structure, tested tools, risk-based training, scheduled exercises, and disciplined stakeholder communications — built so the organization can respond with speed without sacrificing judgment.

Just as important, it establishes a culture of proactive safety rather than reactive crisis management, with a structure designed to hold and scale as Silver Ventures continues to expand.
